Jazz Technique

Arrange a trial lesson

Jazz dance technique is based on the basic elements of classical ballet - but differs in its dynamics. In this course we want to concentrate mainly on turns and jumps: In jazz dance, jumps and turns must be performed explosively from a variety of starting positions. The position of the arms or head is not fixed in jazz dance. In order to be able to use this freedom - for example, to play with the fixed point in turns - control over your own body is essential.

We would like to train such control in this course.

After an intensive warm-up consisting of muscle building and stretching, we start with simple exercises for different turns, which can be turned once or multiple times to suit the individual level. Then we move on to across the floor and practice turns in more complex combinations, which can also be adapted to different levels. Then we work on jumps, and then in the last part of the course we dance a combination of everything - a so-called 'diagonal'.
