Reggaeton

Reggaeton music is a subgenre of urban Latin and originated in Puerto Rico in the late 1990s. At that time, reggae music met Latin American music, such as cumbia.

Unlike other dance styles, Reggaeton did not have a predefined dance style, as there were many influences from the American market in Puerto Rico as well as the already existing Latin American dances. Therefore, Reggaeton is based mainly on Latin American styles, dancehall and hip hop, although the execution of the steps and their intensity vary.

Urban Latin as a culture in general is about sharing energy with others and feeling free, comfortable and proud in your own body.
