Lena Lafrenz

ABOUT LENA

I am a passionate dancer and dance teacher and was born on November 30, 1984 in Freiburg im Breisgau.

As the daughter of the independent and freelance actor Bernd Lafrenz (Theater König Alfons), I got to know the stage at an early age, grew up with it and took part in numerous theater tours. Thanks to my French mother, I grew up bilingual (German/French).

I started taking ballet lessons at an early age, followed by tap dancing, rock'n'roll and standard/Latin, and then ballet, modern, jazz and hip hop as a teenager and danced in the 'Realease' company from Freiburg. I began my professional training as a stage dancer at the 'Freiburg Academy of Dance', which I completed with great success in 2005.

I continued my education with numerous workshops with teachers at home and abroad, headed the jazz department of the dance school 'Dance Emotion' and taught all ages from young to old, as well as the trainees at the training school 'Freiburg Academy for Dance'. At the same time, I walked in various shows throughout Germany for the hairdresser Francek (Freiburg) as a hair model and also often choreographed his hair shows.

In 2013, I took a job as a dancer in the RTL series "Alles was zählt" in Cologne, stayed there for two years and was also the dance double for one of the main actresses in the series. I also took on the role of choreographic assistant for the television series.

My engagements at the time also included being Gina Lisa Lohfink's personal coach, followed by a show at "The Dome 55", I danced for the band "Revolverheld" at the Pro 7 "Bundesvision Song Contest 2014" (winner) and at the ARD show "Verstehen sie Spaß", as well as numerous other commercial jobs for EDEKA, Samsung, Porsche, Brillux, and many more.

In 2015 I was hired at the Saarbrücken State Theater and took part in the musical production "Paradise of Pain". Then in 2016 I was at the Darmstadt State Theater in the musical "Cabaret" as KitKat Girl, followed by engagements in the musicals "Evita", "Footloose", "Ball im Savoy" and "Hoffmann's Tales" at the Darmstadt State Theater. I took on the position of Dance Captain everywhere.

I have been living in Darmstadt since 2018 and initially taught at the Harlekin dance studio and the Stage & Musical Academy Frankfurt in addition to my theater engagements. In 2020 I started my very popular jazz dance classes at the Tanzwerkstatt Darmstadt, which have become increasingly popular and continued to grow.

In 2023 I founded my own company and we have already had our first performances at the Criminale, the Heinerfest, the Hessentag, etc.

Teaching has accompanied me throughout my life since I finished my training, in various cities, and, alongside dancing itself, it is a huge passion of mine.

In 2024 I fulfilled my own dream with my own dance studio - the 'Motion Dance Studio'.
